"Be All of You!” is a Literary Journey by LeVar Pompey that Empowers Children to Believe in Themselves

LeVar Pompey is a dedicated and prolific author, recognized for his focus on creating meaningful and empowering literature for children. LeVar Pompey’s venture into children’s writing was directly inspired by his experience as a father of two.

From the earliest days of gestation, LeVar constantly read to them. Through these reading sessions, he identified a notable absence of children’s books that directly addressed the importance of self-confidence. This fundamental observation prompted him to write a work that would transcend simple entertainment to strengthen his children’s self-esteem.

I wanted to read to them a book that not only strengthens their self-esteem but also stays with them for the rest of their lives. I hope to have accomplished that with this book,” says LeVar.

The central message of “Be All of You!” is to believe in oneself as one truly is. LeVar wants his readers to remember that they are perfectly made as God designed them and that they should not allow any external circumstances to tell them otherwise.

The genesis of “Be All of You!” lies in LeVar’s profound personal experience, which led him to understand that his purpose was to share this transformative discovery with those who yearn to strengthen their confidence.

I didn’t have the privilege of growing up under the tutelage of my father. As someone who had built and rebuilt his foundation of confidence, I saw that throughout my life, my faith in God contributed greatly to the overall success in my life,” comments LeVar.

One of the most significant challenges LeVar has faced in shaping his message through children’s literature has been the delicate balance between playfulness and education. Making the content both fun and informative has required considerable effort.

I discovered that my biggest critics are my two children, who have over 6 years of experience in this area. So I’ve read the book to them and I trust their feedback,” expresses LeVar.

LeVar firmly believes that stories like “Be All of You!” are more vital than ever for today’s families and communities. He argues that modern society’s trajectory has tended to overvalue “uniformity,” diminishing the true worth of “diversity.”

If we allow the imbalance to continue, we may find that the value of difference of opinion, difference of understanding, difference of thought can stunt critical thinking and acceptance, which can cause unjustified division as well as a lack of solutions to societal problems due to our commitment to sameness of thought,” emphasizes LeVar.

LeVar’s deep connection to his faith and his personal perspective have been shaping forces in his writing process and the direction of his creative mission. He recalls a significant episode at 16, when, upon beginning to write poetry, a respected English teacher dismissed his writings without offering guidance. This plunged him into uncertainty. However, his mother encouraged him to persist, affirming that poetry was subjective.

Since then, I have prayed and kept writing. I’ve sold countless books. My works have been displayed on a university’s website to promote the university’s English Department, and I’ve also gained worldwide attention with my most recent project,” says LeVar.

For parents, educators, or emerging authors who aspire to inspire children through narrative, LeVar primarily advises giving them the freedom to create their projects with minimal or no interference.

He emphasizes that the creative spark often manifests in spontaneous bursts. Children, he insists, have an astonishing capacity to conceive great ideas from their young minds.

“Be All of You!” translates for LeVar into a deep comfort with himself in all aspects of life. Like most people, he recognizes the need to remember his contributions. This involves taking a breath and stepping away from confusion to recharge and continue with his mission.

Being all of you means being comfortable with yourself in all aspects. When you are comfortable with your similarities to others, as well as your differences, you will be an unstoppable force,” comments LeVar.

Currently, LeVar is immersed in the production of an independent film titled “The Priest.” The project has received a very positive reception and is gaining popularity globally, with the expectation of being completed and released later this year.
