I wanted to create something that would make the lives of mortgage professionals easier, allowing them to focus on their strengths,” emphasizes Yandy.

Before diving into the world of entrepreneurship, Yandy had a different dream—one that involved a baseball diamond instead of a boardroom. Born in Cuba on December 31, 1999, Yandy came to the United States at just nine months old. 

His father, a professional baseball player, had fled Cuba months earlier, setting the stage for Yandy’s early life, which revolved around the sport. For years, Yandy dedicated himself to baseball, dreaming of following in his father’s footsteps and achieving financial freedom through a successful sports career. However, life had other plans.

When my family lost everything during the 2008 market crash, I realized that financial freedom couldn’t just depend on baseball, I had to find another way to secure our future.” shares Yandy. 

As a teenager, Yandy decided to pivot from baseball to academics, initially setting his sights on a career in law. He enrolled in Barry University to study criminology, but during his first semester, he discovered the world of online business. He dabbled in dropshipping, social media marketing, and other ventures, eventually leaving college after his third semester to focus on building his social media marketing agency.

I wasn’t afraid to take risks and learn new skills. I knew that if I wanted to achieve financial freedom, I had to start thinking like an entrepreneur,” comments Yandy.

The early days of Yandy’s entrepreneurial journey were filled with challenges. He struggled with sales, cold calls, and client acquisition. Then, when COVID-19 hit, businesses started shutting down, and his marketing agency ground to a halt. Realizing that he needed to improve his sales skills, Yandy took a job as a phone sales agent at a mortgage bank, despite the low pay. He saw it as an opportunity to gain valuable experience and improve his ability to close deals.

Taking that job was a turning point for me. I knew it would help me sharpen my skills and get rid of my fear of sales,” emphasizes Yandy.

Within months, Yandy had not only earned his mortgage license and become a loan officer but also became one of the top producers at his office, eventually rising to the position of sales manager. During this time, he identified numerous inefficiencies in the mortgage process, particularly in lead generation and management. This led to the development of OriginatePro, a solution that combined his sales and marketing expertise with his experience in the mortgage industry.

I saw so many inefficiencies in the mortgage industry, especially when it came to lead generation. I knew I could create something better,” expresses Yandy.

Starting a business is never easy, and Yandy faced significant challenges in the early stages of building OriginatePro. These included developing a clear business vision and managing finances. Establishing credibility in the industry as a young entrepreneur was particularly difficult, as Yandy was only 22 years old when he launched OriginatePro in 2022. However, with the invaluable guidance from his mentors, who helped accelerate the launch, and his own perseverance, adaptability, and commitment to delivering value, Yandy was able to overcome these obstacles.

His experience as a loan officer provided him with valuable insights and helped him build the foundation for OriginatePro. He is also focused on growing his brand through coaching, consulting, and media appearances.
